I'm not been able to disable the sound of Taking Photos, I tried every thing even enabling and disabling the BEEP but no sucess so far.

Does anyone know how can I disable or mute the sounds of the DV 8800?

I don't think you can although have you tried just reducing the volume on the playback to see if this works? I have the PVR which is a DV8800 by another name. I can't remember though if the volume control helps.

By the way, do you see distortion on subjects that have a lot of close lines in them? You may want to visit some of the older PVR threads to see what I mean.

It seems that volume is a Global Variable, turning off in the MP3 Mode took all Camera Sounds with it.

I think I remember finding this out accidently when trying like you in frustration to turn the camera sound off.
