How much MPEG4 video can i take with 1gb?

fishycomics May 29, 2006 10:14 AM

elle grand/ 1 sec of vid cam be as much as 1 meg. so Please ask your question ith what camera you are referring to?

Welcome aboars

640x480 on an aiptek mpvr can take as much as 48 minutes of vid double that for lower res.

on my mustek dv4500 1 meg is not the correct card and I can say if a 512 accepts 2;54:10 sec I am sure almost 6 hours. at low res and at high 3 hours

so you will have two different answers andboth are asf format. now on avi it should be less do to a bigger file size.

now on my mustek dv3000 wil be the same as the 4500 but not as high compressed very pixalated

wait for sg he will be on later for a response. but mos hybrids will film 1 menute a meg

a that roughly gts you an hours time. or less.

Of course it depends on the resolution of the video, and I imagine you're talking about the highest quality.

1Gb should give between an hour and 1hour 20 minutes.

Besides resolution it also depends on the compression quality. On some camera you can adjust the quality. For MPVR (or DV 6800), I get something like 43 to 46 minutes only using 640 x 480 on a 1 gigabyte. The quality is not adjustable in the DV6800.

And it also depends on the subject matter. The more color, and the more movement, the more data.

Alright...i have my mind set on a DDV-1000 that i saw on ebay. the only bad thing is that it says it only holds up to 1gb. , but i was planning to use 2gb. i heard that the ispan ddv-920 is the same as the 1000. i've also heard cases where a 2gb. memory card works in the 920...does this mean that 2gb. will work in the 1000. if anybody knows or has tried it please reply..Thanks for all of your help!:G

hi ella

i also used DDV-7000 digilife and i think its more the same with your DDV-1000 so hope this could help coz i upgraded my MMC card 512 MB to 1 GB SD card and obviously i tried to change the video resolution to 3 star(high resolution) and the free timefor video recordingis 01:48:36 and i onlytaken 9 high resolution pictures in my memory when i change to video mode...

but i think the time of the video will also depend to the videothat will be taken.. but take note the high resolution is 640x480.. :dude:
