Ireally enjoymy Action HD. But it is far from comfortable holding for me. Let alone giving me a good sense of physical control when using it because of the size.

You guessed it, I made a mod to remedy that.

It took 2 mins to assemble and cost under $2.00

(you can find all of the parts needed at lowe's, home depot or hardware store.)

Items needed

mounted on camera

views holding the camera with the adapter

While using my Aiptek with my adapter I found my hand is more steady while using the controls and filming. It really cut alot of my shake out while panning. Best of yet, it is now a pleasure to hold now.

I'll post some video's today to show the difference with and without the adapter.

Updated: video added.

info: I recorded two shots one with and one without the adapter. I tried to shoot both recordings the same and to make it more difficult .I used my right hand. (i'm left handed)

The only thing I did to the video is add text.

Final thoughts,After watchingthe test recordings I do see areduction in shake when zooming andthe camera is alot more comfortable to hold. All and all i 'm pleased with the results.
