Aiptek GVS Repair

I have an Aiptek GVS that will not power on with batteries but does when plugged in.
I emailed them asking for a place that does repairs and got no response.
Does anybody know where I can get this fixed?
Thanks

1. Email Aiptek, may need to phone call them today. getting a service ticket. vs waiting. Either they are to busy or 3 people working

2. on your own, make up a 3aa battery system 4.5vdc finding Pos and neg and see if it turns on that way. if not I open up the cam and see if a wire snapped.\

let us know. what I do.

I am assuming from your message that the camera is no longer in warranty right? If that is the case then sadly you're out of luck as Aiptek doesn't do repairs. Basically all they do is swap them out under warranty.

I did however swap out an Aiptek GVS under warranty and it was a relatively quick and painless process when I did it.

Not under warranty. Two years old and hardly used.
never heard back on my email and called today to get a recording and leave a message.
looks like these are throw aways!
Won't buy another aiptek ever!
Now I need to find an inexpensive HD camcorder with some kind of stablization. If there is one.

I will try your reccomendations too fishy. when I find some time.

I have had mine repaired in under two weeks, I called them via phone Do not call them when its Closeing time or off hours, they are West Coast and a small Business. Possably that is what happened.

Keep us all posted. I say try that test you be amazed that a dead battery will go since yours was two years old. Batts do die sitting around fully charged

It's not the battery and I will try calling them again.

Since the camera doesn't power on with battery only and it's already out of warranty, you could try cracking it open to check any soldered connections. If you're lucky it might just be a poorly soldered connection to the battery compartment.

Sadly many consumer products are considered throwaway, but even among those that do offer repair, the charge is often outrageous such that the end result is the same, in that you may as well throw it away anyway :(
