![]() Hello, Roger the "Newbie" here with some astoundingly SIMPLE questions regarding the Aiptek A-HD Camera. First off, I've been using a Sharp 8mm "Handycam" for almost 14 years. Time for something WAY smaller and lighter to use. What I can't wrap my Brain around, is do these Digital Camcorders provide "just as good" (if not better) picture than my old Sharp? What I'm NOT looking for is a Video that comes out "Jerky" like from my Cellphone or what you see on You Tube Videos. I'd like a nice smooth transitional picture. I've also got a DVD-R recorder with RCA Input Jacks in the front. Does this Aiptek Model allow me to go straight into my DVD-R Recorder with RCA jacks? Does it also have a feature to Download from this camera to my PC? I'm running an "E-Machine Computer" that is 2 years old. I don't think it has that Firewire stuff and no SD Card readers. So ANY thoughts/opinions/Help would be GREATLY appreciated! Roger |

Please forgive me but I'm REALLY IMPATIENT!!!
My wife bought me the Aiptek HD camera for Christmas. Were having our 1st snowfall here and I just filmed about 3 minutes of it. I'm trying to upload this now from my Aiptec to my Computer. I installed the Software CD-Rom with the HD Converter on it. After installing I cannot find the "Converter Software". What do I need to do to get the file FROM my Aiptec TO my HD on my PC so I can upload it to Youtube? Roger |

If you just want to upload them to youtube, you can do that without ever copying or converting them. Just go to your youtube account and hit "upload video" and when you browse to select the file, just browse to whatever drive-letter your camera is on your PC. Pick the file you want right from the camera. Just keep in mind, that if youtube is your goal, you may want to record in a lower resolution as youtube only handles 320x240. |

the filecan be read a number of ways. the software is not a converter at all it is only an editingtool. you may have the option to choose mpeg 4 avi/asf or QT. from total media.
the win xp sp2 will see the camcorder if not load the disk in and allow the pcto get the driver to the pc. ifit is a MAC and there is no way going to work or have troubles you are best t ocontact Aiptek and get the newer firmware it is missing the USB mac port info. |

OK part of my problem was that I didn't have the Power turned on in the Camera!
;+) DUH. OK so now I've got 2 files . File001 and file 002. When I go to play them on Windows Media Player it says it doesnt recognise the Extention, so I can't play what I've jusyt filmed. I'm running Windows XP. IUltimatley I'd like to Convert the file to MPEG for DVD burning, (but I'm getting ahead of myself). Right now I just want it to play on my PC. Please don't get TOO TECHBNICAL as I'm a Newbie here! ![]() P.S. Thanks for all your help so-far. Roger |

your problem. you do not have quicktime 7 loaded.
1 I am right. win media player is not going to allow you to play back your video. go to Apple.com load quicktime 7 or higher or type in quicktime free download save and say no thank you if ask for payment. open it up and play if you like to see windows media player icons you loadwmp player of Aiptek . that is it. |

OK.
I've been telling EVERYONE on the list about the Weird Weather in my neck of the woods. Well Descriptions are good but NOT as good as pictures. Pictures are BETTER but not as good as VIDEOS! SOOOooooo......................... Ifigured out how to TAKE HD video (withmy new Christmas Present), then upload that video to his Computer and then "convert" that video to MPEG. Then upload it to Youtube! (There is a "watermark" on the screen, but that's because of the FREE software I used to "convert" it). So I humbilly invite all of you to MY PLACE to check it out! So for your FYI, I'm about 65 Miles North of the Napa Wine Coubtry at and elevation of 3000'. We get Snow 4-5 times a year, but NOT as heavy as this was. I estimate OVER 2" in an hour. Keep in mind this is in Northern California, not back in the Midwest or East Coast! http://youtube.com/watch?v=bgNlkYg2L_w |
