Anyone know what camera the "PDVR" is? Is this the MPVR? Circuit city has this for $119, says it has a 2.4" screen.

The specs say that it is a 6 Mp, so maybe it is the 8800?

The DV8800 is 8MP. It's the MPVR that's 6MP.

Just FYI, my local CC store now has both the MPVR ($149) and the PDVR ($99) in stock for differnt prices. These can't be the same camera, but I have not idea what the difference is; the cameras looked the same in the package.

Maybe the PDVR is missing the AV-IN feature that the MPVR has? I remember awhile ago looking at one of the international Aiptek websites and seeing a camera that was basically the same, but without the AV-IN.

I remember seeing the P-DVR in Circuit City as well. In fact I mentioned it in another thread. It was not on display but underneath in a cabinet. It looked like it had the remote included from what I remember. Can you confirm this? If so, then for $99, if it has the same specs as the MPVR at least, then it's a good buy.
I just noticed that Circuit City has it listed now instead of the MPVR but otherwise it looks exaclty the same and has the same specs. It's still $149 though. I do like this quote from a review "You have to stay still for about 15 seconds before the camera actually takes the picture. That's a long time when taking a picture!" I think that's probably an exaggeration unless they really have cut back on the hardware! |
