well, took the 521 back, nice device, just wasn't happy (esp for $160.00 lol) was thinking of the 506 (with 12 mp), but for now I have the Aiptek DV 5900, so far it kicks the ass of the 521 in photo quality (pardon my french lol)even in MP3 playback through the speaker lol, I really didn't need the extra features of the 521 (games, radio, AV in) so why pay

Referring above, the photo quality is definitely not there for the 521.
It's max resolution is also 12M pixel -by interpolation, 4048x3040. Good to know the other hybrids take better still photos, though. Maybe I'll look at one of those. It's too bad about this little guy. |

When I found out about this, and others.
I think just owning a Personal media player that allows youto watch all your Pc media, digital media, and now tv recorded broadcasting is a excellent way to pass the time if you're a kid or an adult. But paying hundreds of dollars 500.00 for something that a competitor, can offer for 10th the price is worth it. 1. If you sit down and research a hybrid may be the answer, and still be smaller in size. 2. a Sony PSP can be a better buy as it now can do just about anything but yet to take a photo, and video but can oneday if they are smart enough. but too dam expensive if you rarely use. so pics are worthless, and I can just imagine why it's not a hybrid at all. more Off topic like a media player |

Before I bought this I bought the DXG-305v. It was for all practical purposes the same device. Picture Quality and movies were slightly worse. I wouldn't expect the 506(v) to really be any better. Unfortunately, if the DV900 photo quality is that much better, I wouldn't doubt that the DXG cmos line is just not where it's at.
I must admit that I've been stalking DXG for quite some time! The DVC-408 http://www.dxgtech.com/product_jpg/DVC408.jpg, which is next to impossible to find in the US, seems to be an awesome high octane version of the hybrids. Although it's more of a digital camcorder, it's CCD based and has... Optical Zoom at 3x! I'm going to step out on a limb to say that the photo quality for this camera should be much better and it continues to take [email protected] AVI videos. They stripped it of tetris mp3 and the like... |
