I just purchased the Mustek DV 12M and I am disapointed. After 3X zoom it starts to fall apart, and at 10X it is a total blur. Same with photos or video. Useable below 3X zoom. My recomendation is look to another hybrid camera.

The Mustek has the same 5MP sensor as my Aiptek PVR. At least Aiptek only interpolated to 8MP. I think 12MP from a 5MP is excessive and only serves for them to try and fool the public into thinking it is something it isn't.
I think 10x zoom with a 5MP sensor is excessive. Still Mustek are not unique in this respect as regular camcorders often use digital zoom with an optical zoom to boast of silly zooms such as 400-600x etc. They are just numbers to fool people as you can't even use it at that zoom. Forget about the zoom, how does the video perform? If you only got it because of the zoom, then you should know that only optical zoom means anything. |
