yes I am torn, between a rock and a hard place, omething like that. I already have the water proof, I already have the older, imagine if they were combined as one.

I am undecided b/c I know i will not be able to combine clips as a whole, but one clip edit the unwanted.

I know the dig zoom will be a issue as its touch the screen, not the actual manual buttons, wet hands not good.

I know the led will light u a walking path, and not a actual strobe, red eye reducer.

I know this list can go on and on. but I should find out if the site will hep or my pockets get shallow.

1 it looks like this will be a sweeter cam in my eyes, but yet no ext mic, still not a problem to modify one on board.

It is waterproof to ten feet, but a lil late as JVC announces in sept 2010, it seems we are in for a store this fal. a number of releases.

Oh. my. gosh. The zi10 is finally coming out.

I was really interested at first, until I noted that the sensor appears to be the same... and the main feature is the touch screen. Movie editing on the fly is nice, but I had it back on the old nokia n93 - there's always something you miss out on having, or it's too slow.

What would sweeten the deal, is if it would do hdmi live output, so it could be used for more than just playback of videos over hdmi.

On the fly editing would be really nice, but I don't know why these things don't come with real stabilization. EIS just bites. I personally don't see much difference when turned off or on. I think cost may be the sticking point to make a hardware change.

on the fly editing no, paused video nope so editing is basically a waste if asked. only benefit will be removing unwanted footage on clip, per file, not in combination. and that only saves file space.
Price is way too steep 230.00 less a penny, should have been 189.99 set .

They offer free shipping , 10.00 saving Lol.

read it, as the JVC looks like its full touchscreen vs semi touchscreen, I forget which of the res's is shown highest to lowest eeach varies. yeah zi8 left to right, and zx3 up to down andon side still, so wonder exactly where that still is ? lol.

not a great thing if you have to zoom with touch screen inacurrate zooming.

It appears the Kodak model's key outstanding feature -- other than the TOUCH SCREEN -- is the external microphone input, which might attract individuals who are very concerned about audio.

The JVC Picsio GC-WP10...

http://picsio.jvc.com/lineup_01/index.html

http://picsio.jvc.com/lineup_01/imag...p_photo_01.jpg

- is "waterproof" to 10 feet;
- supports Apple's iFrame (960 x 540) easy-edit format
- supports optional Eye-Fi cards for wireless uploading

...but the JVC lacks the external microphone input.

One way to overcome the lack of an external microphone input is to purchase an additional audio recorder.

The JVC also appears to lack the ability to be controlled by a remote control while the Kodak PLAYTOUCH camcorder model can be controlled by an optional remote control sold by Kodak.
