I was in RadioShack this lunchtime and I saw the Optimus DV-5040 on sale for $99.99 instead of $149 and the price is valid until September 9th. I checked online to see if this was a local or national sale and it appears there too. So you may want to check out your local Radioshack.

Here is the model in question:

It looks suspiciously like the Vivitar DVR510 here.

Nice find, rgvcam

If hadn't already blown my hybrid budget for the year, I might have given this a try.

I would as well just to see watt software they were offering with it?

Believe me. had I not got the PVR or I simply had money to burn. I'd have bought it too, but with an infant who is a little more important to spend money on, I can't be as frivilous these days :G

its the lower end model RS. has that's all

couldn't help going to get a slurpie as the hurricain relieved itself from our area. I walked in to R.S. and looked at this camera

A. everythings destroyed by human beings by us :? cannot let things be properly displayed .

So the screen I had to lower myself down to the camera it looked like a 1.5-7 inch screen not good. the camera was locked down. but I at least got my hands around it to say its real plastic and garbage.

the sd cover is a snap likesome complained on the MPVr this one was the worst yet I seen v shaped and the card slides in from the rear of the camera.

the buttons seems to me M and a joystick u anddown for zoom. I cannot realy comment anymore. but I bet the software is different for sure. if any lower or the other model shown I would have asked if i can test this out , pay for it and return it and promise a full refund. was not even worth my time.

they also had a simular looking model for 99.99 of AIpteks 4500 or 5900 Pass no swival screen

your best bet is go get the PVR if you're spending 99.99 but again restocking fees may be the catch that'ssales tax unless you talk a good talk and get on a good side of a sales person..
