when panasonic came out with the d-snap they were high on the list in price. todda with the optical zoom hitting the markets this may be the next camera. this camera is not an optical zoom, its a 2 megapixal with digital zoom unless noted different.SV-AV50 Camcorder

Panasonic SV-AV50: what you say it's a camcorder, you must be kidding! No sir, we aren't in a frame of mind for any kind of pun…. The elegantly manufactured compact & innovative design, looking more likely a mobile or other gizmo rather than a camcorder is in fact a super featured & advance functional camcorder recently launched by Panasonic at CES-06.

It's amazingly classy well built with a light weight of just 120g make you feel like it's just made for you. Along with portability just being one of the items in features list, it is also awarded Best of Innovations Award in the Eco Design category in the annual Innovations Awards competition hosted by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

The product through the use of the low-gravity circuit technology makes it possible to achieve reduced power consumption. This enables the SV-AV50 to consume 32 percent less wattage in operating power: consumes 0.1 watts only.

Finest features are offered by the Panasonic D-Snap SV-AV50 Camcorder. The Panasonic D-Snap SV-AV50 features: 120 minutes of battery life on a single charge, 2.5x optical zoom, 2.0" LCD screen, 5 resolution modes, 1600x1200 dpi, SD memory card, MPEG-4 video capture at 30 frames per second, and auto white balance. Now what are you waiting for just go-get it and enjoy boundless creative freedom with the Panasonic D-Snap SV-AV50 camcorder.

I had this camera when it first came out. Great looking, nice and small but the picture quality was just average and the video quality was awful. It's a shame because it was such a great design and a tiny form-factor.
