My Video was not to be professional at the time it was to show you that yes the camcorder does function in a low lig area.
rgvcam shows daylight shot as we are talking about low light shots its still a perfect example that yes he gets the panning correctly shown Nice job RGV |

Low light performance on Aiprek Zoom DV is slighltly worse than on the Mustek DV-9300, which also has a 3MP CMOS sensor. It is worse than the Ispan 920 and the Nextier NXV-406, both with CCD sensors. The 406 has the best low light performance of all my hybrids.
The 2"-12" macro range works, provided you have a steady hand and allow time for the auto focus to work. Capture is slow, so stay on the subject longer and consider using stabillization. |

Old HAcar, I have a Aiptek DV8800. Had it for about 2 weeks now. It was on
sale at Walgreens for 139.00. It was called the MPVR+ I really like it. How would you compare the two camcorder/camers ? I have taken several pictures, and video of the moon in the last couple of nights. If you would like to see them, please give me a e-mailPlease rephrain from posting your email PM it instead thank you Mod FISHYand I will send them to you. I used my 80 mm telescope and shot thur the eyepiece. I don't know how to post any of them. I am very new to all of this compouters. I was thinking of getting the zoom later on if it woiuld be better then my 8800. Thanks Frizzen. 2nd time notified in a post |

Zoom is missing webcam mode (a deal breaker for me when I bought the 8800). Since it's using CCD instead of CMOS,they had todrop the webcam function... I think someone once told me you just can't use CCDs for webcams (it would burn the chip or something). Anyone knows of a successful webcam hybridthat uses aCCD, has anyone tried using their zoom as a webcam by utilizing some sly trick, what's the fps you're getting, audio quality?!?!
I do however like the fact that zoom has a 3x optical zoom. That's really cool, too bad CMOS hybridsdon't have those? Anybody knows why is that so!? |

Well the aiptek site says it's a 3 mega-pixel CMOS (2048x1536)?!? :?But could they be so much off, since 3 to 10 mega-pixel interpolation would really be a streach, literally?! :-)
If it is a CMOS I then don't know of a reason why would they leave out the webcam function (plus, is it just me or isZ100 missing the AV-IN function as well)?!?! |

Yeah, that's what I want to know. Does the Zoom DV have AV-IN function from the TV or VCR cuz I can't find any references to it having one, not in the manual, not in specifications. I don't own one so I can't verify.
