I'm happy with my Kodak Zi8s.

My experience with still photos has been mixed; some look terrific and others look a bit blurry and I think it might be due to the fact this camcorder -- in low light -- absolutely requires a tripod for still photo shooting.

I also got blurry macro shots, but maybe that was due to not using a tripod.

I'll have to test that further to know for certain if a tripod could help.

Very pleased with video.

While the audio is just "barely OK" with the internal microphone input, I now prefer to record audio with one of my Olympus micro audio recorders and then sync the tracks in my Magix software.

I get the feeling that the Playtouch (Zi10) still has some serious firmware bugs, but Kodak really wanted to have a new camcorder to compete with the new Flip and Sony models during this Christmas season, so they rushed it to market before they could get everything fixed. Hopefully future firmware updates will fix the audio problems, and at least get it working on par with the Zi8.

I think the BIG COMPETITION was the APPLE iPod TOUCH:



The 8 GB model is only $229.

There's no way I would now pay $200 for a regular hybrid over an 8 GB iPod Touch.

The Kodak Playsport remains competitive at a price below $115.

A Zi8 can be had for $99 on Amazon so that also remains competitive.

I don't think the PlayTouch -- at $150 on Amazon -- is competitive against the Apple iPod Touch 8gb model.

Bottom line: Apple has changed the game.

Editing Kewl, to me the beginning and end clipping, is not editing. sould be able to edit beginning , end and joining of clips, wit a simple basic cross fade, add some brigtness sat, but hey its not a powerful unit then is it?
