Just got one of these from Amazon ... so far pretty interesting. I'm new to hybrids (MiniDV camcorder and DSLR guy prior), so I don't really have a base for comparison other than the videos and reviews posted here (great efforts BTW folks!)

I'll try to get some sample videos up since there are no MZ-DV samples up yet and I would have loved some before I purchased

Maybe even a short review if I have time. Again thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

Anything specific anyone want to know, or want me to test, about this camera?

As far as I have seen in very short testing (I have only owned it about 3 hours!), it does not produce any better video than the MPVR in VGA mode (interestingly, it DOES have a QVGA mode). In fact I'm not sure it's even as good as some of the MPVR videos I have seen, but part of that surely is my own technique.

Do you refer to the "D1" mode, or just in general?

I have noticed that the stabilizer really causes odd distortions and doesn't do a very good job of stabilizing anyway ... is this typical? It's almost unusable from what I've seen so far.

Also, is it just me or is the screen MAGNETIC?

tha stabiizer works fine for me?

and yes there is a magnet on the boy that allows the lcd to turn on automatically and off, if you do not like that feature you open up that baby and remove it but do not tamper with the toy its best to be left alone.

I notice fairly large distortions and picture "jumping" or jittering when I have the stabilizer on. I will take some in daylight today and try to post an example.
