can we start a thread for experiences on Digilife-DDV-7000?

Here we can share how to improve the photography using this low cost camera. Share resources of DDV-7000

by the by can anyone say where to get the firmware for the DDV-7000?

Is DDV-7000 better than DDV-C330/340? if so what makes it better.

Infact i had booked a DDV-C330 and was sent DDV-7000 instead. apart from the battery is there any other performance difference between them?

A quick check of the Hybrid List shows the following differences:

The 7000 is smaller
The 7000 uses an NP-60 battery while the C330/340 uses 2-AA's.
The C330/340 has a larger screen
The C330/340 has enhanced MP3 functions, text display, and motion detection.

Since the C330/340 is newer, it may have corrected some problems the 7000 had, such as a very insensitive microphone.

Canada has a very large country-wide chain of hardware, sporting, automotive and home goods called Canadian Tire. If they take on a product, you know it's the big times for that product. Canadian Tire's market niche is perfect for this camera.

Versions of the Digilife DDV-7000 have been showing up occasionally for the past year in much smaller retail outlets. But today's Canadian Tire flyer prominently features the Digilife DDV-7000, in the guise of "Digitron". For $160 cdn, regularly $260. (Regularly? I had no idea they previously carried them at any price.) Anyway, that's not a bad price, considering that buying one off eBay means more costs for currency exchange, shipping, border duties, not to mention the risk of getting ripped off and refund complications.

The DDV-7000/720 is a good choice, since it's a solid performer. Other than the weak microphone and some annoyances like the too-basic mp3 player. Maybe hybrids are finally going to find public acceptance.

Hello....we bought the digilife ddv 7000 off ebay...brand new!. We were really please with it, tried it out and everything. Packed it away for my daughter for Christmas. She was really pleased but after half an hour the battery run out of charge. We have tried and tried to charge the battery but it doesn't work. The camera works when plugged into the mains but doesn't seem to be charging the battery. We've tried chrging it through the computer too.My daughter is very dissapointed! The ebay seller is not willing to sort it out as he says that the guarentee run out on Christmas day and we contacted him on boxing day...not very helpful! We can buy a new battery over the internet, but don't want to waste our money spending more out on the camera if it's not fixable.

Just wondering if anyone has got any ideas?

Ebay is a yard sale. dispute with them

1 Go online to ebay find the battery andget a two for one deal, they're like 1 ceent and shipping.

2 at least you'll have a back up, and longer video time.

selers claime brand new , never opened. so I think the person passing remanufactured goods. that's me. sorry

getto a cellstore , ask theperson to match up that battery, and then if you have a bestbuy , circuitcity or target overup north , try them out

I tried number of photos with this camera.

The deficiencies are on the light sensor too. Only in very dark conditions it automatic flash gets on. Ofcourse i started getting over the problenm by intitially covering the lens with my hand and just before the shot removing my hands over the lens. This way i could get the flash forced.

Any other way of forcing the flash friends?

locate your back of the camera, notice if you have a joystick? left gets you flash mode, right gets you ev moe

if not a joystick maybe a left or rght button.

most hybrids have an icon for flash and control button

read the manual, or learn by playing ?
