advertised as the greatest thing thats happened to video, is a pile of junk.....limited effects...not very compuer user friendly...unless yo use a hd recorder you may as well keep your digital 8.......mine is going right back to best buy.....:P

Sounds a little harsh. I am more interested in image quality than the number of effects. And naturally one needs a HD compatible recorder to transfer HD quality video. That is true for all HD camcorders, isn't it? Can one switch between HD and regular image quality. I will wait for about a year whenHD camcordersare in the sub $500 price range.

But based on the wording of your dismissal, I don't buy that it is a piece of junk.

AS FAR AS THE STEADYSHOT GOES...IT'S PRETTY NON EXISTANT....NOT MUCH DIF ON OR OFF.
