This is what I get 1/2 of the time, very nice considering it is a cheap camera:

& this is what I get the other 1/2 of the time:

But I think I have found a solution for most of the time, the shiny silver aluminum rim of the lens cover reflects alot of light into the lens so I sued some black darkroom tape along the inside edge & it has improved alot.

Although I can not find anything out about a Canon doing a hybrid I got this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...;rd=1&rd=1

Because it looks like & has the same specs as this, except in silver:

I am going down to the camera shop tomorrow & see if I can come up with a push on rubber lens hood for the PVR which I think should solve the problem of blinding the lens as just the tape around the rim made great improvements.

When the new Canon re-label gets here we will see what it is like but I figured that for $115 & free shipping that it would be decent if Canon would put their name on it.

Something seems strange about the Canon hybrid. I can not find the product listed on the Canon web site and the seller didn't list a model number. I wonder if it is really a Canon product at all or if someone borrowed their brand to move some cameras. I have a Canon A620 and it can shoot stills and video to SD. Why would Canon even need to OEM a Digilife product in the first place? They already have the technology.

Out of curiosity, where did you purchase your Canon branded Digilife camera?

Looks like a fake. Quite common in some areas. They are taking cheap/junk cameras and putting name brand labels on them.
