its good so far. I even recorded a few files from my dvd player. Problem is...I can not seem to connect it to my tv. I do not run my cable into my dvd but rather run my cable straight to my television. Make a long story short, how can I hook this digi cam directly to my tv....it seems that the TV(Samsung Plasma) does not have a "tv in" slot on it....I was only able to hook the cam up to my dvd player and record the footage played on the dvd player...I want to be able to record stuff off of tv onto the cam...

Are you trying to record from your TV?

Most TVs do not have composite (red-white-yellow) output connectors. Some may haveaudio (red-white)output connectors to support an external sound system. So you have go thru a VCR or DVD player which has composite output connectors.

I see. And since upgrading to high def cable, I can no longer run my cable in through my dvd recorder and out to the tv....so I guess I am out of luck on that area....yikes...

not at al High def hdmi cable is a seperate vid inpu. it can be worked out . you're overlooking a simple task good luck

open the owners manual and locate the connections decide the best route to get your signal.

forexample

cable tv high def has three out puts

a coax, rca (rgb) and hdmi cables

tv has coax, rgb, hdmi. video port 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 up to XX amounts depending on your set.

video6 is my hdmi cable port hdtv viewing

tv is my coax cable to vcr/dvd to tv

vid 2 is my ps2

vid3 s my dvd

vid 4,5,7 are not used

dvd players do not have tuners

one of those will be the way you hook up. so again you're not following proceedures at all to get it to work?
