Wow! It's a been a years since I came back to this forums. Had a ton of fun with my Digilife DDV-M1. Unfortunately, it suffered a bunch of bumps and bruise but, it still works though:G. Now that I'll be getting an SVP HDDV-8800 (a Digilife DV-6120A clone I think) in just a few hours, I am excited to see how it performs. Wish me luck on the new hybrid cam for 2007.

Welcome back!

Did the SVP HDDV-8800 arrive yet?

I bought the HDDV-8600 and am happy with it - although D1 res video and a 3 inch LCD would have been nice. I'll be awaiting your first impressions of the HDDV-8800.

Oh my god this hybrid camera is awesome. I love the MP3 mode wOOt ID3 tags, shows song info, has repeat for one or the whole songs and shuffle. Wow has EQ like classical, rock. pop, jazz. You can even delete the songs you don't want or deleting them to have more space for vids and photo. Oh man I'm liking this cam already. I might put up a review for this cam.

I found a kid that has an HDDV-8800 with videos posted on you tube & they look pretty good even with you tube's compression!

The only thing I see that could be a problem is the internal battery, does anyone have an idea how long it lasts?

Has anyone on here actually bought the SVP HDDV-8800 yet?

The only place I can find it is Amazon and it is a pretty high price.

What is the concern about the internal battery? Is it not replaceable?

Bukgaggy owns one and is thinking posting a review.

The battery is built into the camera. To replace it, you have to take the camera apart. If you run down the battery, you'll have to stop taking pics or video and recharge the battery. On other hybrids, you can easily remove the battery and replace it with a fully charged spare.

There aren't any dealers on Ebay auctioning the HDDV-8800 right now. There is one with a starting bid of $99.99, but this appears to be a used one from the description.
