In looking around the net, it looks like it may even be more than the $229 you suggested. According to this German article it looks like it will go for 300 Euro over there which is about $400 at current exchange rate. Even assuming it goes for $1 for 1 Euro, that's still $300, so not going to be a cheap Aiptek!

looks real professional, this model , I am awaitin to se like you said about how the price may be veryhigh?

Over on Aipteks site they have shown a few models that we know are being pulled, been out, and more with added features? for example

the aiptek dv5800 modelinternal charger 8 meg 189

the aiptek mz-dv model3x optical same as above 199

the aipte IS-DV2+ model8 meg 139

the aiptek IS-DV2 model5 meg 109

th aiptek IS-DV model 5 meg 89

and the orginal trust worthy 3100 model19 plus a free gift

These Models are todays hybrids, with less flaws.

allow a model to hit the market , and then watch a price drop, but I bet before it drops it dissappears. LOl

added note if you visit the aipte.com site notice the Introduction they show the latest hybrids anda pic frame

Are we to assume all the footage in that clip was filmed with a z300HD? If so, the UTUBE compression doesn't help. If not, that had to be the lousiest PR video I've ever seen. Just a smattering of short clips of slot cars and people and cameras sitting on a table. After having watched that, I have no more info on the cam than b4 I watched it.

Looking forward to getting more info on it.

Yes I agree that we need actual uncompressed video clips. Even the Sanyo HD1 High Definition camera doesn't look good on youtube, yet the original uncompressed video can be stunning. I still don't know why these hybrid manufacturers don't have downloadable video samples.

The Aiptek USA website is now showing the Z 300 HD with a US model name, GO-HD. Price is $299.99.

That's good. I had emailed Aiptek and asked if we were going to get this model and I was told, that they "might have something soon". This was about a week and a half ago.

It will be interesting to see what the video quality is like as this is half the price of the comparable Sanyo Hidef cameras plus it uses the H264 codec.

I hope I am not dissapointed on video quality. I can't justify yet another camera at the moment especially at $299, but if this is very near the quality of the Sanyo's this will be on my list as a possible camera. I just hope it doesn't suffer from any serious design faults like the PVR did.
