I've used CLASS 2 with no problems so far. My Gateway laptop wont see the
card, so i just plug the camera into the laptop, and move videos over that
way.

Thanx Winston. I am happy to hear we can use the hybrid as a reader/writer?

With these all these Aiptek cameras you should be able to use the slowest SD or SDHC cards fine since the 1.5MB/s of the most basic SD card write speed is more than enough to cover the 4.5Mb/s video data rate and certainly more than enough for the standard definition cameras.

I always buy the cheapest as there is no point wasting money if the camera can't write any faster and I've never had any problems. Of course you may find some benefit in the higher read speed but for me, it's not enough of a benefit for the file sizes I tend to deal with.

I just got my copy of Pinnacle Studio 11.The ads say that it can handle H.264, but it won't recognize files that came out of my Go-HD.

Can anyone assist?

Hi All,
I got the Z300 HD cam as it called in Germany ( in USA: Go-HD)
yeasterday and I tried to shoot a rock concert in 1280x720p.

The camera is so bad, all the audio was totally distorted,
although the concert was not very loud...

Also there is no manual mode.
The cam is always in automatic mode and tries to adjust the focus all
the time,
especially, when the light like in a rock concert is changing all the time.
So the 3 x zoom never worked and it is always out of focus.

Then I tried the "flower"-macro mode, which has no zoom,
but a contant fixed 1.5 zoom factor, which was a bit better,
but as I was far away from the stage, I got no zooming capabilities then.
But there was still the autofocus at work sometimes and
the image was blurred in this case too...

So also inside in a room where there is not so much light,
I also was not able to get a focus on some paper hanging on the wall.

So all in all, the camera is not useable.

Does anyone still have stored the firmware update, that was on the German Aiptek site and can post this to megaupload.com or rapidshare.de or simular upload sites ?
Maybe that could have fixed some issues ?

But if that does not fix anything, I am bringing back the camera and
try to get my money back...

so sad to hear, asking for a sample wil be even sadder

1 Firmware why would firmware fix this issue?

2 what did the firmware fix, and what was the issue that needed to be fixed?

these are the questions WE nee to ask ourselves

if one attempts to load a firmware that has no default, and no contact of the support we will be looking again at Anotehr defect on the market..

Sorry I don't have the firmware - is it confirmed to fix some real issues?

Did you have your fingers over the flash / strobe area? There's some discussion as to whether the camera has some sort of focusing capabilities from there.

I would think that any camera, albeit set to 'autofocus' mode, would have a difficult time with focus at a rock concert because of the low light and low contrast environment. I agree that a manual focus or at least focus lock feature would be highly desirable for this cam. I generally have not had any really bad focusing issues as others have, except when filming in near darkness. I also generally don't use zoom while filming.

As we know, Aipteks don't seem to have a buffer and if you move the camera when taking video, you get a wavy effect. Can some who owns the GO-HD, could you see if it does the same as shown in the following video with an Aiptek Pencam.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hScRu3KbeV0

I want to see if it's still as bad as shown here.
