I Have a new problem . . . I downloaded SUPER C. I followed the instructions converting the Go HD to wmv8 and checking for direct show.

However, when I encode it, it gives me an error.

What's happening here?

any idea?

you should be posting this question to the above topic

1 http://www.youtube.com/v/CV5kgOeoHEg

2 http://www.viddler.com/fishycomics/videos/27/this video show the actual demo of the go.mov playing and converting and wmv fil check it out

the video shows the box not checked? and this may be the problem? uncheck it?

you may need to check it forwmp playback so if you leave the mouse on it it explains a lil more detail.

reason I may have notedwas that it did not work on some and may need to be checked I will correct that.

2 as I just tried it leave unchecked for the go all works fine again post in the correct forum , I know this is a attentiongetter post but there is the one in the pinned as well that could be posted too?

I tested SuperC on a 3.4 Ghz machine and found it pretty slow plus the sync test video wound up off sync before the end. However I find Mencoder itself much faster and accurate. It does diagnostics on the files and the AVI files produced work in every NLE I tried plus of course Mencoder works on Linux. And there are two GUIs for Windows available so that you can batch encode.

To create your own sync test video take a head shot of you speaking for about 20-30 seconds. In addition snap your fingers on camera so you can compare the audio and video of the snaps.

The two Windows GUIs for Mencoder and both archives include Mencoder.

My camera has 1.1 firmware and there is a possibility that they may have improved the QT wrapper in later firmwares. I would like to see a file or two created with a later firmware to see if Mencoder throws the warnings during its encoding and also walk the file with Apple's Quicktime Dumpster utility.

Did the 1.5 firmware upgrade and now the flash/strobe seems to have packed up. I checked all the settings either on or off and does not make any difference. The LED's work fine. Will try re-install the FW and see what happens.

Does anyone have the previous FW's available for comparison?

hensberg,

I noticed FW 1.4 and 1.5 available for download...have you tried going back to version 1.4 and see if that fixes it?

Experiences with Quicktime, Powerbook G4 and Playstation PS3.

I'm posting these experiences in the hope that it may help someone else. I bought a Go-HD and had fun with it on my vacation. Playbook on a Powerbook G4 (1.5GHz) is not good - I can achieve 10 FPS at best.

I have a PS3 and thought it would nice to watch HD movies on it. To transcode from ".mov" to the ".mp4" that the PS3 wants, I bought Quicktime Pro for $30. I eventually succeeded in getting the Go-HD .mov video onto the PS3. Here is the combination that worked.
MP4
Video Settings:
H.264
1280x700
8000 KBits/Sec (this is ALOT!)
Framerate: 30
Key Frame: Auto
Audio:
AAC-LC 128Kb.

The transcoding process on the G4 takes a LONG time. But this was successful. The resulting MP4 file plays on my PS3 connected to the Plasma TV. Pretty cool!

Because the .mov video stream is already mp4 (I think) I was hoping that the Video "Passthrough" option in Quicktime would work. This avoids re-encoding the video stream. This option produced a file that the PS3 would accept, but only showed a block box. Interestingly, the audio worked.

That's it for now. For what it's worth.

Hi Eugene2007

Yes, I did try FW 1.4 and it made no difference, so the assumption is that the flash has failed as the flash worked about 10 times after the FW was upgraded.

So its back to the supplier .

Has anyone else had problems with firmware version 1.5?

I finally decided to get the GO-HD and it's arriving today!... I'm not sure if I should upgrade the firmware or not. Or maybe just go with version 1.4. Any suggestions?

my suggestion is call aiptek :G

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000" ask if the firmware is available, and default can be given? every single time one does not mention to the company it makes them more -n- more into thinking they got a Winner
