Well I am back form Mosport (track day/ racing)and I got some good footage (no sound though as i don't have a mic that will connnect to the 2 RCA imputs).

I am so glad I returned the POS DXG and got the Aiptek. I took a few videos, all about 15min in length and they all played back fine and the quality was great.

It is clearly stated in your post it is a video of not yours ? and avi format "WILL NOT PLAY" if you had taken that time way before to mentin this you would not be stuck in this position:G

so once again for the third time

Do you have Arc with aiptek, that came with the device?

this means you use it and all gets converted and works . sorry bout the lg fonts

I didn't instqll the software that came with the camera, I didn't have time, maybe i will do it tonight.

The video that froze wasn;t mine but it was already in .asf format.

I will instal the software and play with it over the weekend.

Is there any software that can take my video and mirror the entire thing? All my video is mirrored as the camera I have is a rear view back up cam so it mirrors the image it takes (all the left turns are right's and vice-versa). Will the arc program do this?

Thanks again.

forgive me as i read so many posts LOL.

1 arc was mentioned b/c you may have said you wanted to play it on the camera back into the same folder, andof the wrong format.

Now you got the MPVR, PVR one of the models? hmmm Muvee4 isbasically whatthey comewith and not good for what you are now asking?

Depending on your pc?

Do you have windows Moviemaker? yes then you are set ?

see demo mirror video

http://media.putfile.com/mirror-20

no then you need a 3rd party software?

and here you'll knowwhere to get one for 5.00 at Aiptek.com it should be presto videoworks 6 with the Aiptek Is-DV disk :G

hope that helps out?

the video is sped up,and mirrored

Thanks for the quick reply (again )

I will check what software came with the camera when I get home form work.

That video is prettycool with the mirror slowly changing. I won't need any ofthose special effects, but it demonstrates well what the software will do.

I'll see if I have the windows movie maker on my computer, I may have deleted it.

I know Mustek had a flash memory based portable video recorder/ player called PVR-A1 (records on SD card), but it is not in production now.

I google with "flash memory portable video recorder" and comes up with this Sandisk V-mate:

http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-SDMV1-.../dp/B000IN72KK

Also records onto SD card. Maximum resolution 640 x 480 pixels. It says records up to 1.8 hours per Gb at about 1 Mbps video bitrate, which seems a bit low for 640 x 480 (the Sanyo Xacti at 2 Mbps bitrate at the highest 640 x 480 resolution). Seems pretty good for less than $100 (Amazon $96.95; click other "used and new" sellers and you get Adorama and J&R at $89).
