I do mention in my review it has "ONE" 720P recording and the other two are of not 720P but of 720x480 widescreen regular if left that word out. the last one is 352x240 regular more catered to youtube, but not fimular yet with apple Ipod hd LOL?

720P only near dvd-quality1280x720

540P or near-vhs quality 720x480

CIF or near -Pc handeling 352x240 or mp4 favorites

Yep that is what I was referring to , which looks correct?

Adric22;

The Hybrid has 3 settings 1280x720 for HDTV @720P (near dvd quality)

720x480 for tv @ 540 (near vhs quality)

352x240 for pc @ 254 (near acceptable quality)

the other Info I only posted for refrence, looked interesting as i was researching

thanks for pointing the info out HdGuy

...no where in the site or manual it is saying what format it will transfer to, I am hoping it will grab the 720p and transfer to 720p but I am guessing it will grab 720P and lower to 540P wewill just have to see?

Got a quick email back from Ruben at Aiptek about the AV input:

"AV-IN records at D1 resolution (720x480 @ 30fps)"

Fishy... Did you order this camera? I thought maybe you had, but I haven't seen it mentioned that you have received it yet.

I suspect the reason it 'only' records 720x480 AV in is that most sources that people are going to use on it at the moment, will only have that resolution anyway.

ah the suspense .

donations needed?

720x480 858 or whatever size

can it be D! as mentioned yes. but of 520P VHS-quality

Love to have seen it DVD (720P) quality

be the first ever camera andwhy all this Hi-DEF when 1080I is that i am cofusing my input and I do appologise?

ordering, well like I said above the suspense? 169.99 plus 7.99 oh what a steal.

giving up optical zoom. for av input

using 2-4x digital should not be bad at all. getting 90 min record time on a batter vs 30 minutes hmm.

Let's try that 720x480 AV is analog. HDTV is a digital transport stream in MPEG-2. It probably wouldn't be too hard to record that stream to a memory card but you would have to get that stream from somewhere. Many HD cable boxes have firewire out so you could record an unencrypted stream like your local stations that way. But this is somewhat beyond the scope of a camera and more the domain of boxes like the TVIX box which costs about the same anyway with much more capability.
