yes my Jvc does fine job if locked on. if not locked it will stay unfocused?

I wouldn't mind Aiptek coming out with a3x optical fixed the next time round ?

Af I always turn off with the casio it blurs and can never work correctly? when I use a manual I get a great shot?

I agree the 1st model did a great job, but hey Iam so attempted to re-purchase , just to own it? but I am not till the price falls again? will trade stuff for it LMAO?
"Locked down" is a filmmaking term for putting the camera on a tripod. Which of course gets rid of shakes. Both cameras were locked down for the zoom test but you can't zoom using the remote with the GO-HD and the A-HD zooms too fast with the remote. Note that no remote comes with the A-HD and I was using the GO HD but Aiptek offers the remote seperately if you want one for the A-HD.

All I want this for is pick up shots. The bugs are ironed out enough for now. Maybe next year or two there will be some 1080p cameras for under $300. That's technology for you.

Can this cam capture video while pluged in? Or will it only capture when running off battery?
What are the media player functions of this cam, if any?
Cheers.
"Media player functions" meaning audio or video files. I understand that there is no mp3 playback like some older models, but can I encode my own video's and load them on the card so I can watch tv/movies on the go? Does the bundled software allow conversion? Or does it tell what specs you need to encode to?
Cheers.

The CIF mode would make quite nice Video CD's. I noticed the audio information is reported as Stereo even though it's mono, I guess because they use two separate channels. Now wouldn't it be cool if Aiptek released a device with a Stereo microphone like the Sanyo's?

Here's an A-HD audio sync test I put together. This will show you which one of your video players can play the file in sync. The beep should sound exactly when the second in the timecode changes.
