I don't think YouTube is ready yet to display H.264. They've only announced it and Adobe's Flash player which will play H.264 is still in beta. Currenly YouTube just converts what you send them to Flash (probably version 7 or 8).

Sign up for http://blip.tv . When you upload, you can choose the format to convert to but it keeps the original file available to download.

I like HDWebTown but they were down for a while for some reason. Looking at their site they do their own hosting so I'm not sure what the problem was other than maybe a squabble with their backbone provider.

You would probably have to create a QT file with an AVC1 video codec and AAC audio with settings that match what the Ambarella creates. I don't think the camera is that flexible as far as media formats go. And trying to play QT files created on my desktop on the camera just resulted in the camera locking up. They could do a more graceful exit when an incompatible file is found but note that was with the 1.1 GO HD firmwave and maybe they've added such compatibility checking by now. Currently the only software I have that creates AVCHD MP4 files is Nero 7 Ultra.

Do the other cameras that Aiptek makes allow for playing back files created on the desktop?

BTW, I think stores carrying the A-HD were testing to see how well they sold and probably will up the order this next time. Camcorderinfo.com ran an article on the A-HD this last week so the PR is getting out there. It could wind up on a lot of Xmas lists which is probably what Aiptek hopes.

Economy price of 150.00 is perfect. if this drops just a lil more it be a perfect steal, hey look you'regetting a free 15.00 charger for the dc world and tax free I say that is a great buy right there?

If other companies , which I see no way Mustek , or digilife is popping out with one this fast?

and Digilife expo a gaming place will be offering a 2.5x overpriced model at their booth, with a Admission fee. Am i attending? I should andstand on a box with a sign , LMAO the last time I went.

Here is a short clip of a band I recorded this morning. This demonstrates audio clipping which occurs recording at loud volumes. Aiptek, if you're reading fix the AGC!

This is a picture of the waveform from the clip:
