Are you guys finding a difference in performance between the black ones and the Blue ones? Are they the same FW version?

Thanks

Has anybody ran into a problem with the camera crashing when taking a still photo?
I went on a trip with mines about a month ago and took quite a bit of still photos.
Out of maybe 80-100 shots, about 10 of them seem to "crash"
the camera. You can hear the shutter sound as if it took the shot, but the display will be blank and all the functions stop working even though the power (blue) light is still on.

The only way I got the camera to work again was to remove the battery and reinsert. When I checked my photo's, I see that the camera took the shot but all it is is a blank screen.

Not sure if it's a memory card issue or something with the hardware/firmware.
Otherwise the camera performed great! The video is quality is amazing for
a camera at this price point.

Fishy,

Actually, this does this at random times when I take still photo's only. No problems with video. I never had a problem with the camera not taking video/still's right after initial startup.

Since the problem occurs at random times, it will be difficult to reproduce the problem on command. I'll try to see if I can reproduce on internal memroy. The problem is that I may run out of internal memory before the problem occurs.

The glitch happens right on start up, for me, not on a vid or pic? so I can reproduce the glitch

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"If the hybrid can have a firmware fix how long in the future will it be?

Lowest in Store price 119.99

Well would't you believe it, two stores have the Aiptek A-HD at a best savings, will never see it go lower than this, If it does 109.99 would be the all time kicker , just before Holiday shopping.

So If you're interested in this Hi-Def Model, and "DO NOT CARE" about the extras that come with it. you may be inf for agreat deal

BESTBUY looks like an older version 119.99

TARGET looks like the newerversion 129.99

What are my thoughts , ifyoushould buy.

"NO COMMENT" it is your hard earned cash and decide if it is for you?

PC needs to be up to speed, quicktime needs to be 7.0 with codec H264, and a Editing tool like magix pro edit 12 40.00 Sony platinuim 129.00,

Good Luck.

Aiptek support can be found at Aiptek.com

The small print in the the Target ad says "color may vary by store", so they may still have some of the olderversion in stock. Is black, blue,or ?the latest version?

BTW, my local Target has the shiny, black model.

it is a great bargain, for Holiday gifts. In my eyes and I am thinking what if

I buy one give it as a gift opens up at christmas. and the Hybrid is no good, I go back to Target with still 20 plus days left ofa 90 day return. not bad.

BUT you can easily talk the 15% refund of by saying it is defective.

if 15% is taken of you are paying or paid a higher price? butat least you get back 85% of your $$$$

Just my thoughts

Hi All,
I called last week the German Aiptek support
and they told me, that they don´t yet have a newer
firmware version than V1.302.

But they will only send firmwares out via email
they told me, if customers have problems with their
firmware.

Also there are different firmwares for German models
that don´t have the AV-input recording feature and
the same model released in other countries, which
have the AV-input option, cause in Germany they would
have to pay much higher import taxes due to it being
then a videorecorder.
So it is only a videocamera and this reduces the import taxes
for Aiptek and the sales price.

So you guys who still have the older 1.201 firmware
should contact your Aiptek country support and demand
being sent the newer 1.302 firmware.
Hopefully you would still then have the AV-input option.

I have not yet tested this, if there is any AV-Input option,
but I would probably also don´t need this, as I am only
using it to shoot HD-video.

Regards, Stefan.
