DPM welcome. covering every single hing in one vid LOL, butt rying to get it all Done LMAO need to be better orginized

1 pc or mac you need to have the latest player wmp not sure I am at wmp 10 and well they're quicktime files they do not play.

I do not like the software that Aiptek given as a player it only makes an icon of the playe rperiod.

quicktime the same butat least I know it is a .mov by the apples company.

QT must be 7 or higher 7.2 is available and the bug is fixed you need to also put the file on the pc rather the card due to more info that can be played, the sd speed does not make a difference they all accept any type andwork fine

you'll se somes loweness but if you have a slower pc , mac, lap, you'll need the reequirements that states on the box.

Here's the first sample video shot from my A-HD. Sorry, it was hastily taken. I should have panned more smoothly. It may not be as good as a $1000 HD camcorder but, hey, for $150, I believe it's worth the price! :ak47:

Check it out at:

Sandman, please check my first sample shot taken about an hour ago and let me know if your question is answered. I was in a hurry when I took the video shot..

I will check it at home, blocked here at work. I saw the other sample posted by another person in the sand and his rc car. The zooming wasn't good, but it is a digital zoom, but the rest of the video was killer.

there is noise, but hard to tell ifyou're near a highway or a quiet area. the sound to be is there hearing the geese, the truck. if this is the newer model it is an improvement.

If you believe you have troubles what do you think they are?

"white noise

"distortion.

"mic too sensitive in high or low setting?

Fishy, I got a 1.302 firmware with my A-HD. I don't know if this is the latest version. I did not hear the sound earlier coz my PC was muted. I just turned my speaker to ON and I'm amazed, the camcorder really picked up the sound of the Canadian geese. The truck that you heard passed by in front of me, around 15 feet away where I was standing. I was at a parking lot when I took the shot. I'm not sure yetif I have a problem, however, I emailed my friend earlier and asked for his opinion. He called me back and told me that the video isjerking a lot. I have the feeling that his computer is slow. LOL!

your camera works fine. the pc at work I waswatchinga slideshow of the video. so yes it is a pc issue,

if older pcs are used that is the problem. you have not the latest but the better version and do not touch a thing. . enjoy your filming .

I have tested several approaches to convert Aiptek´s A-HD high resolution video clips into MPEG2 video files that can be easly viewed or edited. My wish was to be able to edit and burn home video DVD´s. In my experience the dificulty ( reported by almost all forum members) to play or edit Aiptek´s A-HD MOV files is caused by the MOV video container. I have changed the container of the original MOV clips to AVI (without transcoding the H264 encoded data) and the clips play fine and can be edited in any moderately equiped computer.

After several trials with commercial, shareware and free file conversion programs I picked Kingswood Studio SMSG Simple Mencoder Shell Gui, a freeware transcoder.

To convert MOV files to DVD compatible MPEG 2 files:
1- Install Klite and SMSG programs.
2- Run SMSG Mencoder Shell, select a script to transcode files to MPEG2 files (change default MPEG script to get 720x480 or 1280x720 frame size and the corresponding aspect ratio to 3/2 or 16/9 and frame rate to 29.97 fps for NTSC or 25 fps for PAL standard). The files will be batch processed very quickly.

Transcoded MPEG 2 video files can be viewed with any video file player (Windows Media player, Clasic Media Player, MPlayer, VLC,etc) and/or edited with any video editor program (Lead VS, MAGIX, Adobe Permire, etc). Now you are ready to archive, distribute your video clips or edit them into a home movie with your favorite program.

I have uploaded the original MOV file and 3 versions of the same clip to illustrate the above.
