I just had someone comment on that video on vimeo. He said the HD resolution was outstanding and that the sound was crystal clear. He even asked me what camcorder I used. That's pretty cool

Hello,

I'm looking at getting an A-HD, I've been reading topics and I'm getting confused a little.

I'm from the UK so understand that most ones from Europe do not have AV-In (One of the main reasons I'll be buying, so very important), whereas the US ones do. So if I purchased one from the US, it'll deffenantly have AV-In? What about Firmware upgrades, does this keep AV-In? Anything else that I need to know before buying?

I'm looking at buying from here: http://www.electro-cheap.com/product...bd8abe754467a8

Will there be any problems with the device?

Do not purchase until you read this the above link

Dynamight:

ALL USA models Have a working AV input, the Firmware from USA will have 2.002 and will keep the Av input working.

Overseas: I cannot comment but heard that the Hybrid sold DOES NOT have av input , or is the Firmware released with a fix. Will the USA FIx it? a question that needs to be askedanddirected to Aiptek.

The site LOL good luck pass on it.

Well I'll scrap that site. Some places are always to good to be true.

Another one I was looking at was: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:IT&ih=020 Although I'm sure I could find it cheaper but not all places send international.

I'm still a little confused over firmwares, but as long as they all have AV-In I can worry about the firmware when I get it.

Not always. For example the USA Amazon, which stocks the A-HD, will not ship to Canada, and the Canadian Amazon site can not carry the A-HD. Sometimes there are very strict restrictions of what can be sold where. Especially electronics. I even contacted Aiptek USA and they refused to ship to Canada. US only. Uggghh!

You have convinced me, been a lurker here for some time after watching your video
reviews about Aiptek 720HD camera. Bought it on sale at Best Buy online on Saturday
and am looking forward to testing it out now. Already have 3 other camcorders and
the wife will be asking me why I needed another one. I will just have to tell her,
"But honey, all those old camcorders won`t work with the new HD TVs coming along
as a standard in 2009. We need to catch up again."

I hope it works, then she can`t complain over the price when you consider my other
cheapest camcorder cost $389.99. Piece of junk JVC DV camcorder to replace my
Canon that died.

Sweet, just received my UPS tracking numbers and it will be here on the 21st.
Perfect for getting it charged up in time for thanksgiving feast at my inlaws while
my wife works all day at Walmart. At least she will get to enjoy her family in 720p
when she gets home and prepares for a killer Black Friday at Walmart. :?

In The mean time, I must take care of both my buildings and guest suites, hopefully it
won`t snow to make it tougher to keep up. At least my 11 year old son is getting
old enough now to help me out more. Then we get to head over for dinner with the
inlaws. Far better then going to my family. :G
