I kind of figured that lol.

Now if I remove the "Not made in China" request,

I could probably even expect a TV Tuner, shortwave radio and police scanner added to the list of features and still be under $199 :-)

I can't help but comment that having had 8 or so hybrids in the last three years, I'm still using my Samsung i6 almost all the time, and I've had it for 18 months.

It has an optical zoom, one-hand operation, relatively fast startup and shot to shot times, takes incredible super closeups, it's the only camera I've had that can easily replay movies made from shots taken with any such camera, has the best mp3 player of all the hybrids I've had, is the smallest of the cameras, and has a very nice metal body. (easily dented though)

On the downside, the screen doesn't fold, the menu system is basically unlearnable, the low light performance is not great, and it uses a little too much compression. The image stabilization is starting to jump around occasionally.

It's still my best camera, but methinks its time to start looking for something that takes higher quality video.

Second preference is the Digilife DDV-920. Nice camera. The DDV-5120A is hamstrung by an awkward case and useless microphone. The 5120A has wide screen capability, games and motion detection. But I never use the motion detection, the games eat up precious battery power, and I don't have a wide screen tv or monitor. So the 5120A will be the next one I get rid of.

Just be careful of the Lead Paint (Even if it is made totally of plastic!)

Also only 4x Zoom? I thought you said this was a dream machine!

Come on, let's push the envelope :G

How about a 12x Zoom with OIS like the Panasonics and while we are at it, let's add Casio's 300fps

Who cares if it's unrealistic, dreams often are, although I have to say that this is more realistic than it not being made in China for $199 as Alan said:lol:
