I just received my aiptek a-hd 200

I've created this topic to post all my experiences with it

I've played with it for 20mn or so,

so not much to post

i've bough it from technickdirect.de on thursday,

it's a german store, i'm in portugal, it got here today (left germany friday)

total =163€ I guess that will be arround 200$

- It comes in a beautifull box (fishycomics looks like they heard your review)

- cable to connect to an normal sd tv set

- cable to connect to an hdtv set trough components

- small protective bag

- lens protection

- wrist carrier

- battery

- charger

- usb cable

- cd/manuals

- remote control

so far,

connected it to my hd ready tv (samsung 32" le32s81b)

using normal sd cables = 720p video output with black bars on top and bottom

component cables= full 720p screen

got some initial focus issue, the lens was set to MACRO i've setted it the other way

i'll keep updating this post

really weird,

but the site doesn't mention av in

the manual does say that it could have AV IN, it says to check the box

so, I guess if it says in the box it has, it has if not it wouldn't

theres no reference for av in in the box of mine

correction,

the www.aiptek.de site doesn't mention AV-IN

the www.aiptek.com does mention it!

I guess there's a difference between european and american cameras

(perhaps only in the firmware)

History of Aiptek.

Aiptek.TW is the main headquarters. all complaints should be directed to them

Now Aiptek.de (germany) or any Aiptek overseas site, always had the first crack in thenewest model

this started on the second stabilization camcorder the Aiptek DV6800 in oct 2005, while AiptekUSA waited and waited around, then they decided to switch routines. making Overseas wait.

They offered extra or less features on models.

Today, Aiptek pushed the A-HD (V5V) model and incorrectly marked boxs and instructions manuals.

If the Z300 has the AV input in Germany and the AH200 does not hmmm. we be saying the same?

So Do not be upset at all if the site reads less av input. but Call them, Email them and demand the addition of one.

Do not go by ones word hey The A-Hd......... well possably back then it was false , not today

yesterday I played with the remote control,

it's nice to have if the cam is connected to a tv set or something

tried some recordings with it and some photos

- flash is really strong, good for no light or very low light situations and for capturing objects within 2-3 metres of the camera, if they're closer than that it becomes too strong and quality suffers

- picture stabilization no issues at all like I saw on the kodaks, it's very nice, very good speed catching image

-nightshoot increases visibility a bit but also increases noise in image

- battery - strill trying it, i've charged it yesterday all night, will try it on the weekend but seems to be more than enough for my 1gb card (30mn of recording)

- sd quality- its nice, tought it would be worse, but you cant get some good movies in this quality, but I will never use it having HD

- microfone - it's really weak, but some noise editing and audio gets cleaner, don't buy this camera to record concerts or stuff, but for family movies and voice recording its enough

- zoom - almost non existent, it's a pity tough, for digital zoom the quality seems good (I never liked digital zoom) it would be nice to be at least 4x our 8x

"Killer....

"more and more you play the more fun it gets.

some do not see it this way
widescreen camcorder and a narrators dream. If we use this camcorder like for private , personal, and taking notes. then this is a great camcorder just for that.

maybe Aiptek could have quoted narrators dream camcorder

A)

the flash what background are you referring to, has a powerful flash any white background is fine once a darker color it is useless o fa portrait flash, in an open field not good at all. I was able to capture a deer but super dark. lol

I mentioned in another thread

remote on an Overseas vs. av input 10.00 difference I complain to the headquarters for a new model maybe a remote will be kept for your troubles but hey I hardely use the Av sometimes lol why they got rid of the MP3 feature lol
