Has anyone compared the Sanyo offerings to the movie mode of regular point and shoot cameras? I am looking for a pocket cam primarily for video recording. I am not expecting it to rival a HDV cam, but I would like decent, smooth video.

I was seriously considering the Sanyo HD700, but after reading the reviews and looking at some sample footage, I am leaning against it. I know they have to make comprises to get it that small, but I think they cut into the bone with that lens. It seems the HD1000 performs much better, but it's not exactly pocket-able. My search for a pocket video camera has lead me back to the point and shoot world.

Kodak has two cameras (v1253 & v1233) that record in 720p. They look good on paper, but I have not been able to track down any samples of the video.

The Casio V8 & S880 seem to do a good job with video. It's not 720p, but if it's clean and staple I could live with it.

Any thought on which point & shoot has the best movie mode?
