i heard CCD chips are way better in light sensitivity
I know that's a common impression, but a lot can depend on how the ccd or cmos sensor is implemented in terms of size, quality, bits per pixel etc. Some very fine and expensive cameras are using cmos sensors these days.

As for light sensitivity, it would be more accurate to say it this way: A CCD has more light sensitivity than the same size CMOS imager. The really nice cameras that are using CMOS are using HUGE sensors.. but they do produce fantastic results.
