I watched the standard def come out on HSN at 300. 400 more gets you today a HD ome two models.

One has a built in memory of 8 gigand sd card while the other just external.

otherwise both are of equil standards.

I have a Sanyo HD700 on back order but i'm very interested in the Samsung VP-HMX10 as well. I found a couple of Samsung videos on Vimeo, this one for example.

Edit: Samsung seems to have better video quality and a higher bitrate, 12 Mbit/s compared to Sanyo's 9 Mbit/s.

No problem. I was also looking for the Samsung model earlier today here in Sweden but I could not find it. Seems to be on back order until august all over the country. I'm going to Germany next weekend so I will try to find it there and use my own SD card to record a sample clip. Will upload it to Vimeo if I find the camera.

I thought the new full HD Samsung VP-HMX20 was already available in the US. This new model is way more expensive than little brother HMX-10. Small review on youtube below.

I love the swivel hand grip design. You can either hold as a normal camcorder or swivel to a pistol grip for espeacially lower held shots. LCD screen is touch screen like Sony has been using for years now. Some like it and other don't. Oh and 300fps shooting for 10sec. option.

One test film clip got my attention. How convenient to film only one location with all these modes, this guy really doesn't seem to know why there is all these modes in his camcorder :?

Does anybody have 1080p video file samples from HMX10 or from HMX20?

Thx for the links, herbs.

The test clips of the hmx20 looks nice. I'm considering getting this one when it get released in my country.

You're so right Quenaelin. This guy's testing is somewhat limited but better than nothing. I haven't managed to find any test clips yet.

Hi all, I just wondered if anyone else has any more information about this great new Samsung Camcorder - I notice that Argos are selling it for £570, but no apparent stock.

From the limited amount of information I have read, this camcorder will finally give me everything I want.

During the 1990's I was a keen hobby camcorder user, but I got frustrated with the technology and especially video editing. My current camcorder is a nearly eleven year old Panasonic DS-33 DV cam, I was never really happy with it and the quality was poor in my opinion so for the last 8 years or so I have rarely used it. Instead I have preferred to use my Digital still camera (currently a Panasonic TZ3).

I have the full HD setup, and to record at 1080p on solid state memory would be fantastic - I think I'd need to buy a Terabyte of storage though!! :-)

So I want to get back into video recording, is the camera to do it with?
