I'm not say the A-HD is better than my HC1. Hardly. All I'm saying is the improvement in CMOS chips over the last two years and that would include improvements in Sony new consumer cameras too. I was just noting it was easier to get true color out of the A-HD than my HC1. And yes you can pan with the HC1 without artifacts. But I can't put the HC1 in my pocket. :-)

1440 x 1080 is only 1.33:1. That sucks.

It would be cool if they've improved the auto-focus. Better audio would be cool too.

HDMI and a mic input would be nice.
time willtell this is only a guess

1440x1080 is a common HDV resolution and even some of the professional HD cameras shoot in this mode. Not to worry as it is anamophic so you still get a 16:9 aspect ratio. My Sony HC1 footage is 1440x1080.
