Hi there!

Just found out some info on a new hybrid people may be interested in!

Sony HDR-TG1 1080i Camcorder

It claims to be the smallest in the world at just 1.3- x 4.7- x 2.5-inches and weighs ten ounces.

Here are some other specs:

Still at 4mp

Records directly onto Memory Stick Duo

2.7 inch touchscreen

10x Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar optical zoom lens

BIONZ processing engine

5.1 Dolby Digital audio recording

And it costs $900 with a bundled 4GB Mark2 Memory Stick Duo!

Not too shabby if you ask me!

Available next month

Check out the full story on engadget.com

$900 and the memory stick pro format are the downsides to this product in my view, but having a Carl zeiss lens and the BIONZ engine should make for good quality captures.

great find, hate reading , love hands on or demo, and that site will just about say anything to get the penny.

I think the webnet is a Hybrid that fits here, this is not a webnet device , nore in my eyes a Economy Hybrid. if offered within reason, say 500.00 I grab one, SONY was,and always will be a overpriced device, no matter waht they offer.

Toshiba, Panny, are to competitors, I think they have nothing to fare with Sanyo.

if it is a debut model, the company would at least, today have clips available.

If for that amount of dough, and I have to rely on a sight like posted, I wait till I can at least go in the store myself, and test one out.

It can also be said on any sight, we can sell you a ton of info, and you have to use your judgemnt, what is true or false with a device Just at least change the same pic same scenerio etc.....

Will look at the link when time permitted

I'm sure it is a nice camera. But I agree with Herbs.I would not shell out $900 for any camera regardless of the quality unless it can do cat-scans or something. Also, I would never buy anything with the sony memory stick format. I did that once, never again. You have to factor the high cost (usually double) of the memory format into the camera. So if it wasn't already expensive enough, it is worse when considering the format.

I agree the price is simply ridiculous... way too high.

I love the "zoom" microphone feature.

I also love the titanium casing.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the image quality were pretty darned good.

But $900... whew.
