Techvideoblog have some samples from a $150 HD camcorder, there isn't too much info on the site but the samples do not look to bad.

here is the post http://techvideoblog.com/cebit/odys-...hd-camcorders/

Odys is a German firm.

They market to Europeans.

Their British Web site -- in English -- provides some more details about the Odys Multicam MC-HD 800:

http://www.odys.de/web/web_lan_en_hm...n_X410006.html

This camera looks remarkably similar to the new Vivitar DVR565HD.

(The Vivitar brand is actually owned by Syntax-Brillian Corporation.)

The HD8 is like the Aiptek HD Pro. Hmm, maybe companies have taken design up a notch in the internals of the equipment?

Woah! The cam looks great and very small. I think the cam from whatever company is the same but only with little change in button shape or position. One thing tht must suck bigtime on cams this smallhas got to be the battery time. Video quality imo looks great but colours are a bit washed out. Not a major problem tht can be fixed in post/editing. Oh and it also has HDMI whichI think is great.

Have anybody checked out the Jeppsen JDV-720HD which is basically same cam but inblack(looks better imo, more "pro" like:-P). It's an italian brand with a scandinavian name:-)

Apparently, this model is also sold as the "Klegg Genesis V1803."

Here's a review:

Here's the Klegg product page:

The review doesn't mention any hd recording modes in the review specification so I suspect its a different camera or a very poor review. But I think its a different camera due to the fact in the picture of the camera the label on the camera states MPEG4 VGA.
