I guess it isn't possible to disable AF in Action Hd. Am i right?
Does the blurring effect of the AF appears only when doing macros or zoom(besides something very close to the camera appears) ?
I mean, imagine to be recording a landscape or using it as a helmet cam..do u think it would keeping trying to autofocus something?
This is one of the reasons many go for the more expensive Sanyo's as they also have manual controls. I have the Sanyo C40 (not HD mind you) and like that you can manual focus and lock it. Handy as occasionally even in good light it has focus problems.

It would be nice if Aiptek put in a manual focus control or even just a setting to lock the autofocus on an infinity setting.

Paulo,

I'm actually looking for the Action HD (the one with the 3x optical zoom) which is apparently only sold at select Walmarts or at walmart.com (which is currently sold out). It isn't stocked where I live (or at any walmart near where my friends live in other cities :-P)

I picked up an A-HD+ at BestBuy about 4 days ago and wanted to compare the two for different situations.

Fishy,

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually looking for the other new model.

I bought the A-HD+ at BestBuy a few days ago:

A-HD+:
http://www.aiptek.com/Merchant2/merc...;Store_Code=AS

But the one I'm looking for is the Action HD with the 3x optical Zoom:

Action HD:
http://www.aiptek.com/Merchant2/merc...;Store_Code=AS

Aiptek needs to make the names a little more distinguishable :-)

Anyways, the Action HD is only available at Walmart and it is not available locally. It is also sold out at walmart.com . This is why I'm asking if someone near a Walmart that has one in stock would be willing to help me get my hands on one :-)

I completely understand.

A) aitek.com sells on theri site no tax. or wait till a storegets in. it is a hot item

so hot that no one has this. if youorderfrom AIptek West to east coast 5 day delievery. if you're not wantingto do so i understand the reason.

If the A-HD PLUS drops and it will Bring in your reciept get the difference, if the Action drops whic it shall 5.00 iam sur We'll see 179.00 on it soon

This tells me taht a price drop so fast somethings not right

Is it a one-day special offer or the new price?

Alright guys. Here are some more videos.

1. Golfball Close Up 720p60 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RMFCGU5A
At the drving range at night with flourascent lights above. I positioned the camera right by the golf ball. This is one of the videos where I first thought the Action HD might have a low light problem. Good video to listen for sound. Notice how I miss the ball on the first swing....LOL.

2. Golf Night Shot 720p60 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3ZNB2C7X
This is me at the driving range. Using the lowlight mode. Definietly brighter but the
FPS dips down horribly.

3. Golf With Commentary 720p60 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T2GPRZNK
This is a me again but with normal mode. Funny commentary by my friend.

4. Disnet California Sign 720p60 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WMXMG2X7
This was shot outside Disney California Adventures.

5. Disney Car Ride 720p60 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RGQEFZOH
This was shot in a buggy ride in Disney Land. Sound is good.

6. Marry Poppins 720p60 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0PGQGH2L
Shot in front of the Magic Castle with Mary Poppins dancing and singing with a band. Good video to check out the sounds.

5. Paradise Pier 720p60 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JIO5F7EZ
360 Shot of Disney Land from the Pier.

6. Paradise Pier 1080p30 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PYYTNCSM
Same as above but in 1080.

7. California Screamin 720p60 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZP0JQBUB
This was shot on the Disney California Adventures' Roller Coaster. Lots of music and screaming. If you listen carefully, you'll hear me moan as all the blood is drained from my head when the coaster finishes the loop...hahaha. Looks good.

8. Royal Street Veranda 720p60 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PYYTNCSM
This was shot on the Royal Street Veranda. It was getting dark.

So after a week of playing around with it, here are my issues.
1. Low light sucks. Looks like there's a screen door when it's dark.
2. Auto Focus not as good as I'd hope it would be. It seems a little slow and sometimes it can make up its mind.

What I like.
1. It a cheap Hi-Def camera.
2. Optical zoom.

What I'm gonna do.
I don't know. Not sure whether to keep this or get the A-HD+ or even just get the A-HD.

Fishy. Now that you have the A-HD+, what do you think of its video quality over the A-HD? Which do you like better?

So I guess I'm not the only one having issues with the lowlight scenes.
Don't know if I understood the video correctly but when I push the battery up I don't see a difference.

If your unit's lowlight capabilities are no different than the original Aiptek A-HD then please respond.

I do not mindposting here, and most my posts are in the review pinned

Action HD is the camera. and no matter if it is the A-HDPLUS, or the ACTION HD, both will be Poor lighting, period,

Aiptek A-Hd, GO-HD seems to be a brighter low light. If you can up the Ev one then will it be brighter? that was what I had to do in myvideo but. I can deffently say I do not like a Auto focus and the New Model.

I would downgrade to the Aiptek A-HD, and if all ese fails something more reliable, i own quite a few. and super happy with my Aiptek A-Hd 2.002 modded by Aipteks repair center.

When I go away, I am sure to take the Aiptek A-HD with me

I am happy with my A-Hd, if I decide to film (never said return, )it be day time faststuff

my Pc handels the A-HD Perfect, the A-HD+ NOT again why I say start to post or view the pinn
