hello, and first sorry for my poor english:roll:

I've searched on the forum but found no answer...

I'm searching an affordable HD camcorder to record video sequences with an helmet camera, even on D1 quality ( my camera has 580line )

old 6800 series from aiptek had av-in , even on european version, but as the HD came , there is no one product in europe with Avin....

So an A-HD+ ( maybe the AHD 300? ) haveAVin specified in data sheet, even otherl version of HD aiptek camcorder have AVin...but what is the european model corresponding with him...?

so, how acivate the functiun on european version and what european version can be upgraded/activated with AV-in

best regards

Hello all. Haven't been around for a while since I bought

my A-HD. Glad to see this forum is still going

strong.

I just purchased 5 new A-HD+'s. So far I have

only tested in 720p30 modes. Compared to

my older A-HD the images are darker at the

same exposure with more chroma noise in the

dark areas(which there are more of) the older

A-HD has a lighter washed out image so I am

not sure if it is better or not over all. Even when

I up the exposure on the A-HD+ it is not as bright

(also not as washed out)
Can anyone tell me how to check what firmware I

have in these 5 new cams? What one is best as far

as video goes? I don't care about audio.
Thanks in advance for any reply's.

Here is the AHD+ shot

Picture images Must be kept to a limit

it is mentioned on the forum how to correctly load them

I do not mind, but I mindwhen you're forcing us

no harm no foul.

The A-HD is the better of lower level model,

the A-HD+ has a poor low level

the GVS the worst

meaning you get more light on older models.

to check the FW by going to:

1. MODE bringging you to the 4 or 5 icon screen

2. PRESS and HOLD the Back buttonon screen

HOLD in theMODE

FW shows up

1.4 is what I have

older is better newer has artifacts

Thanks fishy. Sorry about ther pic size's. It let me post them no problem, then the later pics it said were too large so I made them smaller. Not sure why it allowed the first ones to go through. :?

Yes the cams seem to be a full stop worse as far as low light goes. I found upping the exposure 1-2 notches makes for a equal image. This I believe has come at the cost of a higher rez imager. Even when both cams (AHD & AHD+) are set to 720p30 the AHD+ is capturing more detail. The 1080p mode captures even more detail then the 720p30 mode (within 50 feet anyway) which is a feet with these little crap len's

Of the 5 cams I got:
4 have:

V1.900
HW:C, Panel:AUO(VJ)
June 25 2008

1 has:
V1.404
HW: X5
April 11 2008

Anyone know what the HW: stands for (Hard Ware?)

I will do some video tests to see what the differance between V1.404 and V1.900 are. Didn't look like much.

Can one flash to an older firmware if desired?

Are you needing to go to PAL because you want to have a final product on PAL format DVD?

Are you wanting to use the cam or would you prefer using a lipstick cam with the AHD capturing?
