Are there any still cameras with 720p50 or 60 out there?

OK, thanks, I found the info on the Optio W60 - release date on Amazon is August 5, 2008. No PDF manual is on the Pentax website yet. At least, I didn't find it. Looks interesting, but not sure until I see whether that 29 minute limit is built-in to the US versions...

Based on my experience with the Kodak V1073 and V1253 I think there is a lot of promise in this form factor. It is a pain to hold steady, and the lack of a swiveling screen is a problem, but this formfactor is a good way to mount a lens big enough to give a low F stop with a larger imaging chip. The Sanyo HD1000 is an alternative way, which has its own set of 'issues.' Certainly the form factor of the V1073 is more pocketable than the HD1000, and when it has to be held steady I usually have my briefcase handy, and the small tripod which is in it. The OIS reduces the holding problem, in any case.
