Hi All,

I just bought a HD+ and I am having a lot of fun, much more than with my old miniDV camera :-)

My one concern is that the focus is off (upper right quadrant) on my unit. The rest of
the image is quite good but that quadrant is definitely OOF. I recently bought a wide-angle (0.45x) magnetic lens and that REALLY exaggerates the problem but it is caused by the default lens I'm sure.

I'm attaching an example frame that shows what I'm talking about.

Is this just the quality of the camera & plastic lenses or is it worth my while trying to get a replacement?

Thanks,
Tim

Welcome Timcor.

best to try a new one, these Aips have no inspection station, and I am sur this was missed them. its a Fixed focus.

only troubleshootadvicewould be:

A any fingerprints on lens, plastic film (used to come with)

B macro switch clearly in the down position, and makes sure you place up, and back down for confirmation will at times be on macro.

hope that helped out

Thanks Fishy... funny thing is the still shots are great, only video is OOF in that quadrant.
This makes no sense to me. Do you see what I mean in the pic I attached?

Yes, I did clean the lens carefully and have verified the macro is OFF.

Problem with returning this camera is I have already installed a better electret
microphone capsule. It's a perfect job, nobody would tell (I used to be a board rework tech) but this way I either have to get out all my soldering gear or lose my high quality capsule... Oh well.

Thanks,
Tim

Was this before the repair, or after the repair you noticed?

it isadecision if the issue is bad? you can always trade off, if worse comes to worse and start over

My Mod well not the worst or best thought the sound be better with the internal mic LOL still need testing

so like isaid maybe something is on the sensor hmm not sure what else?
