Can anyone help with the firmware update? I get to the firmware screen, but I can't figure out the "negative of enter" instruction. I've pressed every damn button, but to no effect. Anyone who has done this, could you please post the solution?

Thanks!

Brian

OOps--not a FAT-32 format. Trying again with the right format!

Finally got it! The .bin file must be in the root of the SD card (unzips usually put it in a folder). I did not get the reboot message shown on the firmware jpeg after powering back on post update, but the update did work and the zoom muting is gone.

Did you figure out the negative of enter button?

How about the recalibaration needed after the FW upgrade.

Scotia.

There is no "negative of enter" (thank goodness!). If you have the .bin file in the card root, you just hit enter on the "firmware" menu choice and it boots the .bin automatically.

I just found a negative review of this camera here:

I don't think he used the Arcsoft player

Best,

Brian

Does anybody else think this camera's video is better than the other cheap hybrids around here?

Thanks.

Brian,

Thanks for the update.

Did you notice any improvements other than the zoom mute?

Scotia,

The autofocus function seems to work more quickly and the "pulsing" is reduced.

Best,

Brian

I think it's somewhat better than the Aiptek. Granted I've not used the aiptek but bitrate is higher, video is crisper and overall I'd say it does better even in low light. Of course all this is relative and the DXG is a bulkier unit.

I'll post up a night video soon.

I just did the firmware update, I'd agree that focus pulse seems reduced. That alone makes the upgrade worth it.

Also something to note, all AF problems are increased when zoomed. Not a super surprise but something to be aware of.
