Has anyone tried to add an external power jack
Bump. Got mine today, and noticed that the USB flap SAYS DC, but it doesn't appear to charge over USB. Anyone?

Also, did the firmware update - says 1.16 now. Is that right? The documentation that came with it didn't list a version number...

mreed,

You're correct; the new firmware version is 1.16.

Could a DXG-595V owner upload a full 1080p sample file with a lot of vegetation in it? I want to compare it with some video shot by a friends Action HD.

rgvcam,

Here's a link:

http://search3.idrive.com/driveway/j...?id=nsjjd97749

Please note that it is in the original .mov format; you will need to use the arcsoft player to see it at it's best and a PC with a decent processor. The QT player on a PC makes these movies look terrible (pixellated even as stills); the arcsoft player is very smooth and brings out the full detail.

Best,

Brian

Great night video! It really shows what you can do with this little unit.

Thanks for posting it.

Ihave followed all instructions for the upgrade but when I hit the enter button, nothing happens other than it goes to a screen that indicates my current firmware is V 1.1.

Any ideas?

Thanks Brian, I have a Quad Core at home that plays HD files rather nicely so I'll wait until this evening to download it.

tsg,

make sure that the .bin file for the update is in the root directory of the SD card; if it is in a folder on the SD card, it will not install.

rgvcam,

I have a quad core machine, too. You might be surprised how much better things look on the arcsoft player.

Best,

Brian
