Anyone having trouble with the sound from this camera. In Sony Vegas (7, 8 and 9 tested) it is silent. I am having to pump the file through Adobe Premiere Elements 7 before I can edit it. Unedited video plays okay in QT

Rename the file to a .MP4 rather than a .MOV

This will solve your sound problem without having to convert the files.

BIG PROBLEM!
I accidentally updated my cam with Aiptek firmware instead of the new DXG one, and it won't even power up
Does anyone know what I can do???
I'm about to go on a long vacation and I wan't a camera to record our memories with!

Thanks in advance!

Just take the Aiptek one then?

Did you reflash with the DXG FW?

You basically crashed the bios or O.S. you need to send cam for reflashing .

LAstresort is o purchase a cam at a store , costco, and return if you do not like it.

I just bought my 595v from Walmart(actually stocked in the store), and it comes in a different box. Kind of a hybrid blister and cardboard package. But mostly it came with the new FW version! Yayz.

I just went to http://www.dxgusa.com/downloads and downloaded the Firmware update at the bottom of the page “DXG-595V Firmware Upgrade Instructions”. I followed the included instructions and it upgraded my DXG-595V from the Firmware version 1.16 to version 1.23. The upgrade went smoothly and I have not yet re-calibrated the cam. I did not notice any additional items in the menu like a way to turn off the auto focusing that makes the cams video move in and out in small movements. I did a test video in 1080p and noticed it still had that issue.

I did the re-calibration of two items on the cam “Lens calibration”, and “Lens sorting” using branchiopod’s instructions and then took another 1080p video, the focus hunting issue still was a problem. I did find a big improvement in the new firmware in that it now appears to have increased the bitrate 1080p video is captured from about 10Mpbs to now 19Mpbs! This was shown using the Mediainfo utility, this improvement should lead to a large improvement in video quality. Can someone verify this?

I just did the FW update that bobcat had, now after a few seconds of footage it says "File Error".

Nvm, I found it, and calibrated everything, but it still says "file error" after like 2 seconds of recording. But the 2 seconds that were recorded are saved and can be played back fine.

EDIT: I deleted all the footage on the card, and it works fine.

EDIT 2: It still gives me " File Error". :|
