That's if the CCD has global shutter. Global shutter is an optional feature on CCD's too.

It is? Could you give an example of a CCD camera with out one?

I think a lot of low end CCD security cameras are rolling shutter, global, not sure which but more of the more expensive pro cameras should have it.

One thing to note about the low priced sony hybrids, such as cybershot, while offering HD, it seems that sony have modified the later models and you now can only recharge them on a stand, where before you could recharge them via usb connector for example in your car cigarette lighter. Such features are still available in the more expensive sony models.

It may not sound too serious but if you are out and about and need to recharge the battery, this may pose a big problem having to carry around the extra stand that you can only plug into a mains socket.

Such hybrids are quite cheap.
