Does anybody know when this model is going to arrive in the U.S.?

I currently use my two Aiptek Action HDs with separate Sony minidisc recorders, but it would be nice to not have to carry two devices to get great sound.

Private Idaho:

Seems that the Z600 is already available in Germany.

So I would assume that the Z600 will be available in October 2008 in USA.

This makes sense since October is a just the right time to begin selling a product
for the Christmas Season.

I'm looking forward to see if the Auto Focus has been improved on the Z600.
Hopefully no motor sound from the microphone.

Or else I will hold on to my Action HD.

Regards Robert

Great News:

PhotoKina from September 23-28, 2008 at Cologne Germany.

Aiptek will be there, will anyone attend this event.

If someone is going to this event, then you can test the Microphone input on the
Z600.

It would be great to have a Live Video Feed directly from the Aiptek Booth, but
maybe I'm asking for a miracle.

Maybe someone can get a free pass or two.

Regards Robert

Rob it is hard to say ifAip has permission to go on a board and post their companies product, they may have an agreement and can get them released from duty.

It be great if a Company can come foward as a Visitor, or like you said a Guest speaker. would clear up a lot............

now for the Z600 it is like germany gets this model, we'll get the next new model. this was when the MPVr and dv8800 I forget.

I hear ya with speaker ear peice listening to the recording in live i think our models can do just that.

no matter what design of a jack Aip heard us seen the videos and did something about it NAh I bet they held out on us LOL

I am sure it will bypass the system and I am sure they'll now toss in a wide angle lens and manual controls 100 models later

That's definitely an external microphone input.

Here are the official PDF specifications from Aiptek:

http://www.kom-agentur.de/uploads/aiptek/AHDZ600.pdf

On page 2:

"Built in stereo-microphone and extra external microphone jack."

Hey, Aiptek seems to be listening.

Good job, Aiptek.

Now all we need is for somebody to test the functionality of this new external microphone input jack.

Does it silence the built-in mic when in use? (It should.)
Finally a stereo microphone *and* an external jack. It seems Christmas may have come early for us. :G Let's hope the camera is at least as good as the Action HD only with improved sound and doesn't have any major firmware bugs etc.

Before anyone asks they seem to have been taken with a Fujifilm finepixS2pro and not the z600 itself.

And here is a video about it (this was posted elsewhere before)

Well, I just got back from Wal-Mart where I had to return one of my Aiptek Action HD camcorders. I had bought this second one about a week ago and didn't test it until earlier tonight and.... surprise... the audio recording was broken; IT DIDN'T RECORD ANY AUDIO!

So Wal-Mart refunded my money.

What a pain.

Oh well, maybe I can now buy this new model with the external microphone input, assuming it will be available in the U.S.

But... when?

This could be great acessory if you really want to use external microphone. But I don't use it unless motor is giving some noise to video, but Aiptek products has noise in their mics anyway. It looks like internal mic is otherside of LCD screen, which is much better position than on the top.

Well, for recording dialogue, mono is actually preferable to stereo, in my opinion.
