Aip releases this as a lower end mode not bad not bad.

screen is still small, 1 gig internal (30 min rec) and back to the MP# player SWEET but we al know 90 min max play time LOL

[email protected] only while the cam has only 720p, it is like one step foward two steps backward.

if Aip.DE got the new 1080HD with its larger vid size we get the lesser grade not bad,

I am deffently passing on this for reasons of:

1 no av input

2 less vid resolutions

3 np-60 lesser grade battery

4 less macro close up,

5 less infinity close up

6not liking res for 60 fps

7 no mic input

8 design has a more plastic look

9 remote control may be not available

10 software not available

and the list can go on.

Digilifes front sure looks pritty close in ways to this model, and wondering if the macro became a lens barrel switch. Mic is deffently again above and on the top and as usual never knowing if its improved/ bigger/smaller. Firmware chip set will not know what company or cmos senser.

the record switch again changes and only if only if they made it for the bigger hand or place it on the very top back on the angle, the hand grip will again cover the flash, that has been improved over years.

I'll be passing on this one, too. Agree with your criticisms.

As a previous owner , we who own models should love to see:

A. expect more not less. asyou own almost the 1st model to the latest, youcannot afford to step backwards, only and ONLY if sound was improved, stated, and written in a formal letter on Aiptek.com from the Owner, if USA .DE . tawain etc.committing a full refund on the previous model owned- upgrade you to the new one with no chages at all.

B. offering again a better sound stated on the site, chip video sample sound sample photo sample and a lower price and discount for forum members

We are here. we are out for a camcorder that will do its job, andaffordable. if it meets our expectations and more, we are here for generations to come:|

The link to which I pointed in my first post in this thread seems to have disappeared.

I wonder if Aiptek decided to pull it.

Odd.

That model looks very much like the AHD C100 in europe

Here are some video examples taken with the C100

Welcome to the game "Spot the differences" :?
That is the Us model of the AHD100 (without "C"- no AHD-C100). What are the differences between the AHD-100 and AHD-C100? :? Ehmmmmmm.... mmmmmmhhhhh......the color....the 848x480 resolution.....maybe else.
Yeah, definitely worth waiting for the AHD-D100, with 907x515 video mode.....
Joking apart, I think the AHD-C100 is a good camera for the price: 77€
In the picture, the AHD-100.

Almost equals 16:9 ratio, maybe meant to take advantage of many older SD wide screen televisions, and plasma displays. It is a shame that Plasma so flushed it self down the drain, still trying to flog wide SD resolution 32 inch plasmas (and that resolution is incompatible with the resolution offered in a PAL signal. Always behind the resolution 8 ball in lower sizes. Could have bought a nice, and I mean nice, 50inch for $1000US earlier, but now everybody going 1080p, and then 2160p.

WVGA is 854x480. But 854 is not multiples of 16. So it is not perfect for video compression. I saw Panasonic also use 848, not 854.
