Odd.

I got another e-mail indicating the AHD Z600 model is coming "very soon" to the U.S. and it will be called the "Action HD GVS."

The first e-mail said "Action HD Pro."

But perhaps that has changed; or perhaps the individual who sent the first e-mail was thinking of a different model... perhaps they were thinking of the Action HD that is being sold at Best Buy as the A-HD Pro.

Don't know what "GVS" stands for.

Well I guess this seems to confirm the suspicion that the Action HD Pro in Bestbuy wasn't the z600. The model names are starting to remind me of car models. 'GVS' sounds like 'XLE' or 'GTi' etc

Or, go very silly, all these confusing names are too much.

Let alone the low bit-rate in clips of 720p60 that has 18.5 % more pixels per second than 1440, no higher quality bitrate modes, or lockable controls to stop it bouncing around in focus or exposure (a dual polarising filter and keeping distance with subject can be used for exposure and focus).

You can see the rubber cover over the mic port in this photo:

See it? It's at the lower right.
