I'd love to see Hitachi's forthcoming wireless streaming to be incorporated into future hybrids.

I guess this is the modern equivalent of the laserlink that Sony used to transmit video via infrared to a receiver connected to the TV. The main advantage with WIFI, of course is that you don't need to have it directly aimed at the sensor!

The WIFI works pretty well in my house where I have an Apple TV box connected to my television.

http://www.apple.com/appletv/

It works with Windows PCs just as well as it works with Macs and even with 802.11g speed I can stream 720p H.264 clips.

Several computers are distributed in various bedrooms with iTunes software.

These (PCs and Macs) are all networked wirelessly via the Apple Airport Extreme router.

So when I want to view video that is stored on the hard disk of any of the various computers, I use the iTunes software to stream the video to the Apple TV.

I was really surprised that it actually works.

So it should be pretty easy for the camcorder manufacturers to do the same.
