Greetings Everyone:


Does anyone know what is the minium Bite Rate for Video to be displayed in

High Quality on You Tube.

I uploaded a short Video on You Tube with a bite Rate of 2056.

The video does not showup in High Quality.

The Video was a WMV format.

I am simpl on things-

when I load my clips I am at 1280x720 h264 wmv with magix pro movie editer, youtube will convert- o- hi deffor me, if I load qt thesame nothing regular.

so i think certain ways of loading formats will or will notwork.........

You don't need hi-def. 640x480 will do. Just use a higher bitrate. The high quality is the video recoded with MPEG-4 which Flash 9 and up supports. YouTube, as usual, seems to lack the resources to put up good help information but you will find similar tips in their forum as I've just given.

YouTube is also a bit behind the curve stuck in "retro" 4:3 aspect ratio while other sites can handle different aspect ratios. For YouTube don't forget to render your 16:9 footage letterboxed 4:3 or everything will appear skinny. I've seen a few professional videos uploaded that were anamorphic and not letterboxed. Apparently, probably annoyed that the video didn't show in the "recently added" section after they uploaded it or clicking on the link gave a "not yet available" message they never noticed or did and frustrated left it that way.

~~when watching any YouTube clip, go to the URL and type
&FMT=18 and you'll see the video in a much higher res mode with better sound.......there's your Christmas Gift from me to everyone here!
